IN-PERSON GATHERING RULES and RECOMMENDATIONS

RE-GATHERING INFORMATION

We are excited to re-gather on the beautiful grounds of Kawaiaha’o Church again on November 15, 2020.  Although we love meeting you online and will continue to do so, we know many of you have been eagerly awaiting a return to seeing each other and worshiping in person.

While many of us would love to see church services return to pre-pandemic status, the reality is we really won’t know when that will be.

  • There are several things to keep in mind as we re-gather:
  • Please make a reservation prior to coming.
  • Everyone over 3 years old should wear a mask for the entire service.
  • Please stay at home if you’re not feeling well, have come into contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last two weeks or are awaiting COVID-19 test results.

Please note that we especially want to be mindful of the health of the most vulnerable among us, those with pre-existing conditions, low immunity or compromised health, and ask that they watch online from the safety of their homes.

With new information, requirements and guidelines evolving on an almost daily basis, our leadership have been working hard to ensure that our plans to continually clean and sanitize the sanctuary and bathroom using the most effective methods which will give you peace of mind while you’re here. And with you doing your part by wearing facemasks and physical distancing so we can enjoy a safe and enjoyable re-gathering!

RE-GATHERING fACTS AND QUESTIONS

WHAT SHOULD I DO PRIOR TO ATTENDING A SERVICE?

You can now visit the Kawaiaha’o website to reserve seats for you and your family at the Sunday worship services you want to attend. You may also call our church office at (808) 469-3000. Seating will be limited in order to follow physical distancing guidelines within the sanctuary. Make reservations only for members in your household, which helps us speed up the check-in process. Each family member 3 years old and up should wear a face covering if attending services. Please arrive 30 minutes early to ensure that you have enough time to check in and find your seat before service begins.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE?

When you arrive, please check in at the sanctuary’s main entrance check-in station where you will have your no-touch temperature taken. Provide your last name to the attendant for a smooth registration process. Printed bulletins will be available for you there. You can then follow an usher to find your seat. Please do your best to maintain a safe six-foot distance as you move through and take your seat. Family members may sit together.

WILL CHILDCARE AVAILABLE FOR MY CHILDREN?

No childcare or Sunday school will be available for now to give us time to monitor the needs and prepare for the future. If your children will be sitting with you in service, please have them wear facemasks if they are 3 years old or older, and bring quiet activities such as coloring books, an iPad with earphones or reading books so they can be occupied during the sermon. If they should become restless, please take them outside, exiting the side doors in consideration for others.

WILL RESTROOMS BE AVAILABLE?

Yes, our restrooms will be open during service. Restrooms and toilets will be cleaned and sanitized frequently by our Covid Task Force team. We ask that you do your part in maintaining physical distancing, should there be a line to enter and wash your hands thoroughly.

WILL THERE BE ANY FOOD OR BEVERAGE SERVED AFTER SERVICE?

To ensure your safety, we will not be serving any beverages for the foreseeable future. We encourage you to bring your own beverages in a spill-proof container if you desire.

WHAT WILL PARKING LOOK LIKE AT SERVICE?

Parking will remain the same.

WILL ONLINE SERVICES STILL BE AVAILABLE?

Our online services will still be available through Kawaiaha’o TV and Facebook LIVE or YouTube. Online services will begin at 8:30am. We are committed to continuing the same level of excellence that you’ve been experiencing during the past several months for those who feel more comfortable watching from home.

WHAT PRECAUTIONS IS THE CHURCH TAKING TO PROVIDE A SAFE ENVIRONMENT?

We are taking every precaution as prescribed by the CDC to ensure that our campus and sanctuary is clean and safe for you and your family. We also will be asking everyone to wear a mask throughout the service, and temperatures will be checked before people enter the worship area.We ask that those who are most vulnerable with pre-existing conditions, low immunity or compromised health to watch our service online.

We value your safety above all else. Also, if you have any of the following symptoms during the two weeks prior to service, please worship with us online:

  • Fever over 100 degrees
  • Cough or sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Any flu-like symptoms
  • Contact with anyone confirmed to have COVID-19 in the past 14 days
