Matthew 5 is a wonderful chapter to really understand God’s Laws. When one

looks at what Jesus says, he says not acting out the Sin doesn't mean you have

not sinned. So, if you don't commit the sin but have sinful thoughts, you are just

as guilty of committing the sin.

What does this really mean? When you are a true Christian, your heart has been

purified through the Holy Spirit. It means leaning on the finished work of Christ

and God’s grace to receive salvation is crucial because you will never reach

God’s perfection.

How do we really know then we are saved? Once you accept Christ as your

savior, repent of your sins, and have a loving, regular relationship with God, you

notice a change within yourself. In my case, I have noticed I'm not an angry person

anymore. I think differently about so many things. I think about how I can better

help others. I look at my bank account and savings and see them as numbers

versus anything of value. As a matter of fact, I have been praying to ask God

where he wants these numbers shared. I care less and less about this world. I am

completely satisfied with meeting basic needs. I am easy to forgive when before

I held grudges. I want to read the Bible and listen to sermons more and more. I

want to pray more. I have gratitude for how well God cares for me. I am not

afraid. I am more apt to be truthful than hurt feelings. I have transformed

internally in thoughts and desires. I gradually realize my outward veneer

matches my inward heart. I don't feel fake by looking outwardly good when

inwardly I am angry, lustful, prideful, greedy, and spiteful. I have peace within.

Yes, Christ helps change you from the inside out. Your inwardness matches your

outwardness. Your heart goes from stone to flesh. Mahalo Ke Akua!

I may not pray for everyone, but I do bless often and mean it. I really like the

In Hawaiian languages, as it’s common courtesy phrases are Ke Akua pu or Lesu pu.

This really demonstrates the spiritualism around the language. We are starting

to lose the spiritualism in language and it saddens me.

There are times I say God Bless you and I get an inner feeling the other party

either passes it over or looks down or just seems to minimize it. Why? Could it

be because they feel dirty deep inside and unworthy? Is it because they don’t

want to be reminded of their creator? Is it because they are of another belief or

have no belief? I have literally had some feel offended when I see it as a

wonderful gesture. It’s almost like our selfishness gets cracked when we are

reminded of a higher God. I suppose all of the above apply differently to

different people. Next time when I sense I have made someone uncomfortable

by saying “God Bless You”, I think I will ask them why. Maybe there is a reason I

have not thought of.

Numbers – Ke Akua, Truth

Today, I was thinking about how mathematics has impacted our lives. Did you know the basic “code” of computers and devices is simply the numbers 0 and 1? Zero means numbers and one means on. Everything from gravity to how the Universe operates requires math. Time is mathematical. All structures around you require math. Digital currency is a series of digits and people are using mathematics to get rich. Oh, talking about rich, it is simply mathematical numbers and yet people look up to those who have more numbers to their name. Land ownership is mathematical too. Nation borders are based on numbers. People steal for numbers, wars are caused by numbers, money is measured by numbers and we work to earn numbers. Weather is number based.

Math has perfect rules too. You either get the right answer or a wrong answer. If your math isn’t right in your bank account, you could bounce a check. If the Universe isn’t mathematically perfect, we all die.

God is the best mathematician ever because He created it. His measurements and rules behind the numbers are perfect! They have to be for everything to run properly. We have grown technologically thanks to God allowing us to know some of the rules He created.

Now that much of what we value is purely numbers, let’s go deeper and discuss who created the number system in the first place? Without Him, the rules of how to use numbers would not exist, and neither would we.

Although numbers are important to build, create, and exist, they do not mean anything without a Creator. Thinking this way, we know where our true priority should lie and it’s not numbers.

God. Wants. True. Worshippers! – Ke Akua

I often wonder why I have a daily, strong desire to worship God. Yes, it’s every day. I actually get tense now when I don’t read His Word, listen to a sermon(s), pray to Him, thank Him and want to be close to Him.

Then, I realized why this desire is so strong. It’s because I’m truly saved! God is changing me from the inside out. It’s truly a transformation as Jeremiah 15:16 states:

“Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.”

Before being reborn, I had no desire to read the Bible. If I prayed once a year, I was doing well. When I pray daily, it’s now with intensity, truth and sincerity. The prayers just naturally come. Most of the time, my prayers are thanking Him and telling Him how blessed I am by Him. It’s almost like what happens in Heaven as described in the Book of Revelation. Before, I prayed because everyone else was doing it. I just didn’t want to be the odd man out so I would bow my head to look good. Now, I realize I was self deceived into thinking I had any relationship with God. I was self-deceived that I was even saved.

Do you get that thirst to read His Word daily? Do you have a strong desire to pray every day even if it’s just to thank Him? When you pray in a group are you doing it with meaning or because “it’s expected” from you?

Gods wants true worshippers. Those who thirst for the living waters every day. Those who deep within thirst to be with Him and glorify Him. If you don’t have those daily yearnings, you should do what Paul says:

“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.” II Corinthians 13:5 NKJV
