The number one thing to do everyday – Body and Mind, Prayer

“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I  have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15 NKJV

“For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. According to the  grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and  another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it.”

I Corinthians 3:9-10 NKJV

God wants a regular relationship with you. You are a friend. You serve God’s purposes. Like any  relationship, regular communication enhances the relationship. This means regular prayer is crucial for God to draw nearer to you. The more you pray, the closer He becomes.

God protects you through prayer. Your prayers help fight against evil forces that linger in dark places. The light of God is your armor against evil.

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,  against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the  heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand  in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the  Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—” Ephesians 6:12-13, 17-18 NKJV

Did you know prayer changes you? As you regularly pray, God changes your heart to be more like His. The more time you spend with Him, the more you want to spend with Him. Our  thoughts, habits and desires shift to loving others instead of self-centered desires. Prayer  changes us inwardly so we shine outwardly.

Prayer not only protects us but also protects those we love. That’s why people ask us to pray for them. The more we pray for them, the more protection they receive.

Regular prayer brings breakthroughs in your life. Whenever we have challenges, God is there to  listen to our challenges and assist us in solving them that brings Him glory and yields common good. Sometimes one needs to wait for an answer as God’s timing is perfect. Many times the  breakthrough prayers results in solutions way beyond what you wanted.

Yes, pray regularly and God will draw closer. Your relationship with Him will become more  intense and rewarding. He will respond to you just like your best friend who you talk with  regularly. Your love for Him will intensify as His love for you. Imagine. You have an opportunity  to have a close relationship with the Creator through regular prayer. What a blessing and an honor at the same time so pray often.
