“And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to lose its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to lose its seven seals.” And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.”

“And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!” Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.”

What is a scroll anyway? The scroll is the execution of God’s plan to rid the world of sin. In a way, it’s God’s war plans against the evil one. Notice how the Elders and living creatures revere the opening of the scroll which releases the seven seals? The seven seals are the seven actions God uses to defeat evil and sin.
You see, God provides common grace on this earth and restrains the evil one. This is why we have love, compassion, mercy, kindness and goodness still on this earth. Anything the evil one wishes to accomplish must be allowed by God (Job 1). During the time of Tribulation, God no longer restrains the evil one and his demons which allows destruction on this planet to happen (Revelation 9). If you really want to get another taste of what happens when God unrestrains Satan, read the Book of Job.
What’s even more amazing is God is opening the scroll to answer prayers of the Saints. Do you know whenever you recite the Lord’s Prayer, you are praying for the tribulation followed by the return of Christ? Here is where you are praying for the loosening of the scroll:
“Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 6:10 NKJV

Can you imagine how many saints prayed for the Kingdom to come? Once the scroll is opened, the prayers of literally billions of believers over the centuries will be answered!
The Book of Revelation is revealing and fascinating! Did you know the Book of Revelation ties the entire Bible together? It gives the ending and a new beginning that started with Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit to the return of Christ to set things right again.
Father,
Thank you for revealing your war plans to defeat evil. Even though the tribulation is a horrendous time, the end results will be glorious! Evil will be defeated once and for all leaving only Your Grace and immense love. It was a long time coming for us locked in time, but shortcoming for You. We await Your Will and our prayers. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
