Aloha mai kākou,
You are invited to participate in a statewide vigil that embraces all religions in order to collectively provide spiritual and emotional healing for the victims and the survivors of the Maui fires. Together, we will lift up our prayers and meditations on Friday September 1. Television news stations will be sharing this vigil on their various stations throughout the day. Let us be one community who stands with our beloved brothers and sisters. Please share this invitation to your contacts and please invite anyone to attend. The physical locations on each island where people can attend if they so choose are listed below. We encourage houses of faith to join us in opening your sanctuaries to offer prayers.
On Oʻahu, Kawaiahaʻo Church will be having an Eccumenical prayer service at 12:00 pm, open for all faiths. If you are attending and would like to offer a prayer, please reply to this email. We are advising any clergy or persons in pastoral leadership positions to please wear your robes or appropriate attire as fit.

- Moloka‘i – Kapuāiwa, Kalaniana‘ole Hall, west end, 605 Maunaloa Hwy., Kaunakakai from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Kumu Hula Mikiala Pescaia will lead the sunset vigil in partnership with kumu hula, cultural practitioners including Walter Ritte, and leaders from diverse faiths (please arrive by 5 pm and connect with Kumu Hula Mikiala Pescaia).
- Kaua‘i – Kaua‘i Community College, 3-1901 Kaumuali‘i Hwy., Līhu‘e, at Noon. Kumu Hula Kehaulani Kekua will lead the noon ceremony in partnership with kumu hula, cultural practitioners, and leaders from diverse faith (please arrive by 11:30 am and connect with Kumu Hula Kehaulani Kekua).
- O‘ahu – Thomas Square, 925 S Beretania St., Honolulu, at Noon. Kumu Hula Mehana Hind will lead the noon ceremony in partnership with kumu hula, cultural practitioners, and leaders from diverse faiths(please arrive by 11:30 am and connect with Kumu Hula Mehana Hind).

- Liliuokalani Gardens, Lihiwai St., in Hilo at Noon. Ceremony led by Rabbi Rachel Short in partnership with Interfaith Communities in Action.
- Old A’s Pavilion 3&4, 75-5500 Kuakini Highway in Kailua-Kona at Sunset. Ceremony led by Kumu Ka‘ea Lyons.
